Introduction
This mission statement serves as the central guiding principle of our faith and church. It defines the mission, vision, values, and goals that unite this congregation, offering clarity and focus for all ministries, outreach initiatives, and assemblies. For our church, the mission statement is more than a set of words; it represents our shared faith, hopes for the broader community, and our ongoing commitment to follow in the footsteps and the teachings of Jesus.
Mission
Our Mission Statement:
To love God wholeheartedly, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to share the transforming message of Jesus Christ with all people. We believe our job as the church of Jesus Christ is to transform our world with God’s Word…one life at a time.
Vision
Our mission is based on the Great Commission – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV)
Values
CHRIST-LIKENESS: We depend on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and prayer to make us more like Jesus Christ.
TRUTH: We stand together in the truth of God’s inerrant Word, celebrating the faith delivered to the saints.
UNITY: We work together in love for the sake of the Gospel.
RELATIONSHIPS: We consider others more important than ourselves.
TRUST: We tell one another the truth in love and do what we say we will do.
FUTURE: We value Christians of all generations and embrace our responsibility to pass this charge to a rising generation in every age, faithful until Jesus comes.
LOCAL CHURCH: We, as a community church, are given the authority, power, and responsibility to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person we encounter.
KINGDOM: We join other Christ-followers for the Gospel, the Kingdom of Christ, and the glory of God.
Goals
We seek to carry out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by focusing ministry efforts locally and nationally (as well as internationally through our affiliates) through four key strategies: Worship, Equip, Serve, Influence.
Worship
Loving God Wholeheartedly
At the foundation of our mission is a deep and abiding love for God. As a church, we are called to worship with sincerity and reverence, recognizing God as the source of all life and the author of our hope. In our weekly services, we gather as one body, on one accord to lift our voices in unified praise, engage in prayer, and encounter God’s Word through Scripture.
Our commitment extends beyond the walls of the church building. We encourage every member to nurture a daily relationship with God —through personal devotion, meditation, and a life infused with the presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe that loving God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength shapes every other aspect of who we are and how we live.
Equip
Sharing the Transforming Message of Jesus Christ
We are entrusted with the good news of Jesus—a message of hope, forgiveness, and new life. Our mission is to proclaim this gospel, both within our own community, our region, and to the world.
This means equipping every believer to be a witness who is willing and able to share their story of faith and the difference Christ has made in their lives. It also means investing in creative ministries (inspired & artistic), outreach (in person & digital media outlets), and partnerships with organizations that help us reach beyond our immediate context. We believe that the love and truth of Christ have the power to transform individuals, families, and entire communities, and we are committed to being faithful messengers of that grace.
Nurturing Faith
Faith is a journey—one that thrives in the company of others. Our church is dedicated to nurturing spiritual growth at every stage of life. This takes shape through dynamic teaching, Bible study groups, discipleship programs, and opportunities for personal reflection.
Children and youth are cherished members of our community, and we invest in their faith through vibrant Sunday Education School classes, fellowship events, and mentorship. Adults are encouraged to deepen their walk with God through small groups, men and women community gatherings, associational retreats, and ongoing education. We believe that a strong faith is rooted in knowledge, experience, the encouragement that comes from walking together and, more importantly, the impartation of the Word of God.
Serve
Serving the World with Compassion and Grace
Jesus calls His followers to serve, not to be served. Our mission extends beyond our congregation and reaches into the world. We partner with local charities, participate in global missions, and respond to crises with generosity and prayer.
Service is at the heart of who we are. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, visiting the sick, supporting refugees through our associations, or caring for the environment, we strive to embody the love of Christ in tangible ways. We believe that every act of service, no matter how small, has the power to reflect God’s kingdom on earth.
Loving Our Neighbors as Ourselves
Central to the teachings of Jesus is the command to love our neighbors as ourselves. This love is expressed in acts of kindness, hospitality, and justice. We strive to create a welcoming environment where every person is valued, seen, and cherished regardless of background, age, or circumstance.
